"I would be interested in a fight with King Kong if the weight and money was right. I dont duck nobody. I got 70-80 fights. I stopped counting. I would love to fight Zab Judah, but what kind of oppotunities will come from fighting him," he stated and you don't want to miss what else he had to say about his beef with Demetrius Hopkins, his desire to face Ricky Hatton or any of the title holders and much more.
TheHype: FightHype would like to welcome Emanuel Augustus to tonight's chat session
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: What's up FightHype?
dangibbons: Give us the scoop on Demetrius Hopkins. What's up with your beef with him?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: Basically, I was in Brownsville and he fought in the Valley and I met him in the back and I asked him to fight and things went downhill from there. He said some non-flattering things about me. I must've hurt his feelings because he went back and told Bernard and Bernard told me I will never fight him.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I was shocked because Bernard came up the same way I did.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I had a belt at the time and his nephew didn't so I couldn't believe what was being done and being said.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: He went and tattle-told on me. He took it to an offensive level. I was trying to be more mature for the first time in my life. It was what it was and he did what he did, but I'm cool.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: He can't make weight and then he moved up in weight and I'm tempted to follow him there.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: If I can't fight him, I'll fight Urango, Bradley, Herman Ngoujou or maybe even Ricky Hatton.
mosleyfan: Hey Emanuel. Thanks for chatting with us. Mayweather Jr. has always said you were his toughest fight. Having been in the ring with him, how would you compare his legacy to that of some of the all-time greats like Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray Robinson? Do you think he should still be fighting right now?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: He really hasn't taken too much punishment, but it's his career and he's his own man. He will go down as one of the best. He beat the Golden Boy and he wasn't supposed to do that and I can't say nothing bad about him. He's a good fighter and if he decides he wants to come back and do it, he'll pick right back up where he left off.
muaythaifan: What are you thoughts on MMA? Good, bad, don't care?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I like it. It's not so much...I watch it and I trip out on it. The idea used to be to get the guy on the ground and now I see more standing. It's entertainment. I think people will be coming in there with swords and sticks. My own vision is it will go back to the Roman times.
BigPoppaPump: Who do you like in the Hatton-Malignaggi fight?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I think that Ricky Hatton will out-pressure him. Pressure busts pipes, but from what I heard from the Cotto fight, he's starting to stand in place now. I think even if he moved on Hatton, Hatton would still beat him.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I'd like to see Malignaggi go back to moving against Hatton. The boxer against the puncher.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I personally will put my money on Hatton, but I'm rooting for Malignaggi.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: He has good movement and he shouldn't be standing in front of a guy like Hatton.
throbakfighter: Emanuel what up champ! alot of promoters sign talentless fighters. You are a fighter who is tough with heart, you are a good tv fighter and fans buy tickets to see u fight. Y is there no smart promoters out there who are willing to sign you? Boxing promoters PLEASE wake up and sign a real fighter like Emanuel Augustus !!
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: If any of these promoters would get it together. I'm in a situation where in order for me to get a big fight, I have to take the fight on short notice or get a promoter to sign me. I look at myself as a little bit younger than Micky Ward. He's my idol now. I have to get a promoter that not only see's my potential, but helps me reach my goal. I'm here training with Roger Mayweather and I feel and look good.
jaz: Zab Judah recently commented that he might be moving back down to 140. Would you be interested in a fight with Judah?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: Yeah, I would be interested in a fight with King Kong if the weight and money was right. I dont duck nobody. I got 70-80 fights. I stopped counting. I would love to fight Zab Judah, but what kind of oppotunities will come from fighting him?
CroCopolopolis: What do you think about the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya? Do you think it's a good idea for Pacquiao to be jumping up two weight classes?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: Honestly, I really don't, but maybe he was a guy that has a problem losing weight. Pressure busts pipes and I think DLH may be in for a tough fight, but he has power, height and I think it will be a tough fight, but I think DLH wins it.
boxing-guru: What's Good Drunken Master, How's working with Roger? I KNOW your goal is to be the champ, but right now, out of all the current title holders at 140lb, who do you think is the best & why?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I really dont know who all of the title holders are. The names I run off to you are the fighters I really want to fight. I would like Hatton because I think he's the best. He a tough guy and I think I will have a lot of fun in that fight. It will be a fight that will have to happen in England and the fans would hate me. I will not get hit in that fight.
lloyd1111: What about a possible matchup with you and margarito?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: If the money is right, we'll take it!
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I had never seen Cotto flustered and lose his composure like he did against Margarito. I saw the worry in his eyes.
dangibbons: Who are some of the fighters you looked up to and admired in the past? What current fighters do you enjoy watching?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: Mike Tyson fighting Bruno is what got me into boxing. I like Aaron Pryor. That man right there to me...oh my damn!
mosleyfan: Congrats on the ESPN Friday Night Fights awards. Did you ever think your talents would be honored in such a way? When are we going to see you back on ESPN?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: To be honest with you, no! When I'm in the ring fighting, I do what I do the best way I can. As soon as Sin City gets that call, I'm there. I'm always in shape and they know I come to fight and I come to win. I want to get that call from them real soon. I want to be one of the first fights back.
muaythaifan: Who do you like in this weekend's fight between Mosley-Mayorga and Berto-Forbes?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I think Berto will beat Forbes, but not by knockout. I think Mosley got him. Don't know if he'll knock him out.
justincredible311: Just wondering if there was one guy in history you could fight as a dream fight who would it be and why?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: Marvin Hagler! Aaron Pryor was a pressure fighter, but Hagler's temperment wasn't too aggressive. Hagler didn't throw enough punches. I think I could outwork him. Pryor wouldn't give me time to set up.
justincredible311: What round do you KO Hagler?
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: 10th! I would have some fun first.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I would like to knock him out in the 10th, but it would probably be in the 7th or 8th.
EMANUEL AUGUSTUS: I want to shout out Mark Reels and the WBO, ESPN, Sin City Sports Entertainment, Roger Mayweather, Terrible's Csino and all of the fans for all of the support. Thank FightHype.com!
TheHype: FightHype would like to thank Emanuel Augustus for taking time out to chat with us tonight.

lloyd1111: I just came back from conversating with Augustus and it was cool.
lloyd1111: It went great. He answered mostly all of my questions.
lloyd1111: We talked about a potentail fight with Hatton.
lloyd1111: And his outlook on how Floyd Mayweather could somehow train with a pressure style like Hatton.
lloyd1111: He didn't know if Hatton could adjust to the defensive training of Floyd after fighting his way for so many years.
lloyd1111: He also discussed how the amateur fighters should focus more on conditioning.
lloyd1111: Thanks Hype for the conversation. It was awesome.
