It looks like multi-division world champion Robert Guerrero is hoping to land the role of villain for his upcoming clash with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather. Earlier today, Guerrero was arrested for gun possession at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. Exact details of the arrest have yet to be released, however, according to reports, Guerrero was attempting to catch a flight back to Las Vegas when it was discovered that he had an unloaded 40 caliber semi automatic handgun in his possession.
Guerrero had been in New York since Monday to promote his upcoming May 4 fight with Mayweather. According to him, the reason why he had the gun in the first place was because the media knew he was an avid hunter and they requested that he bring a weapon for a photo op. Sources say that the gun is legally registered in the state of California, but Guerrero is not licensed to carry it in New York, so he is being charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The arrest comes just one day after Guerrero celebrated his 30th birthday.
