"Hey Carson, I wish I could help you out, but we already have all our sparring partners for this camp. Maybe we'll consider bringing you into camp for Devon's next fight. That's the only use that we would have for a guy with 9 losses and 3 draws," stated world-class trainer Kevin Cunningham, responding to recent comments made by welterweight Carson Jones, who was hoping to replace the injured Kell Brook as Devon Alexander's opponent on May 18.
"By the way, aren't you coming off a loss and a draw in your last two fights," Cunningham added, making it clear that Jones isn't even a remote possibility for the IBF welterweight champion. Meanwhile, the hunt continues for a suitable replacement. Names like Vyacheslav Senchenko, Andre Berto, and Shawn Porter have all been mentioned to be in the mix.
