After successfully disposing of Solomon Haumono in 10 rounds back in April, Kevin Johnson now sets his sights on Martin Rogan, but that's not the only future opponent that "Kingpin" is targeting. In fact, Johnson actually has his next 3 fights mapped out. "We looking to fight Martin Rogan on the undercard of the Malik Scott and Derek Chisora card. Then we want to fight the winner of those two, either Scott or Chisora, and after that, we want Deontay Wilder anywhere in the world where the contract lands," Johnson explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com.
First things first, however. Rogan, who is also coming off of a knockout win over previously conquered Klitschko opponent Albert Sosnowski, has fought 3 times this year, going 2-1 with a decision loss to Audley Harrison. On the contrary, Haumono was Johnson's lone fight of the year, so the road to Wilder won't exactly be easy. In the past, Johnson and Malik Scott had a good back-and-forth war of words on FightHype, but unfortunately, a fight never materialized between the two. Should a future showdown between the two ever materialize, you can bet Scott will do his part to spoil Kingpin's plans to test Wilder. "The whole world wants to know if Wilder is a real or a fake, so Kingpin will be the ice breaker to his record," the outspoken heavyweight added about Wilder, who he would like to eventually face sometime towards the end of the year.
