"I think the fight that the fans want for Manny is Floyd," stated multi-division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, who thinks long-time ring rival and fellow multi-division world champion Manny Pacquiao should focus more on securing a mega-fight with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather as opposed to a fifth fight with himself. In fact, according to Marquez, he's not even really thinking about the idea of fighting Pacquiao again.
"I already have four fights with Pacquiao and a lot of people would prefer to see these two rivals in the ring. I think if we voted on what fight people want to see, I'm sure they'd want to see Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Jr.," Marquez explained during a recent coversation with Jose Moreno of RECORD. "There is talk of a fifth fight, but I do not lose sleep. I am preparing to fight against Alvarado and the other [fight] doesn't interest me."
