KING MO TALKS TOM DEBLASS CLASH:

"I think you are gonna see a good fight. I'm going to put on a dominant performance. I'm liking the change of the canvas and doing my camp at American Top Team. I'm ready to get this fight in and prepare for whatever is next after the fight. I'm going in there to win, hopefully come out with no injuries, and prepare for the next fight, hopefully in November," stated Bellator light heavyweight contender Kig Mo Lawal, who talked about his upcoming September 5 clash with Tom DeBlass. Check out what else he had to say!

PC: You will be fighting your first Bellator fight under the new regime on September 5th against Tom DeBlass. How do you feel?

KM: I feel good, you know what I'm saying. It is what it is and it's time to get down to business, that's all.

PC: I know you are excited to be fighting for Scott Coker again.

KM: I'm excited to be fighting for him again. Things were going good in Strikeforce when he ran it and now that we done got rid of... I won't even say his name because it makes me sick, but we replaced him with somebody that's gonna make everybody else feel better.

PC: He also went out and signed some of the Strikeforce cast, like Bobby Lashley, Melvin Manhoef and Paul Daley.

KM: Yeah, it's time for him to do his thing. It's all entertainment and he signed some entertaining fighters. People wanna talk like MMA is a sport; it's not a sport, man, really. It's sport entertainment, but it's real. That's all it is. We are here to entertain; that's all it is.

PC: You're coming off of a fight against an opponent where you had so much animosity towards him. DeBlass seems to be a good guy. Do you know him personally?

KM: I don't know nothing about him. I respect him as a fighter. I respect all fighters, but when the bell rings, it's time to fight. I don't hate nobody I fight. They got people I don't like, like Quinton; I don't like him because he's a joke. DeBlass is confident and he thinks he's gonna beat me and I'm here to prove to him otherwise, that's about it.

PC: Have you watched any of his fights or are you familiar with him at all?

KM: I'll start watching him when I get closer to camp. I have seen him fight before, but I'm gonna go back and watch him. I know he's good at grappling and likes to throw punches and all that, but I'll go back and watch him fight again. But right now, I'm just back in the gym. I sparred with Andrew Tabiti and I'm gonna be doing some sparring with Michael Hunter and then I'm going to Florida on August 1st.

PC: What are you expecting from the other light heavyweights and all of the signings they are making?

KM: I think they are gonna build 205 a little bit more. I think every weight class can benefit from signing a few guys here and there. Everybody just gonna have to be ready, be on their P's and Q's, and just win.

PC: What are some of the things you will be working on moving forward?

KM: Everything. I'm working on everything. On a good note, Bellator finally changed the damn canvas. All of them motherfuckers out there talking shit thinking I was just complaining about the canvas, a lot of fighters in Bellator, not just myself, don't like the canvas. If you watch, every one of my fights, I slipped. I slipped in every one of my fights. Even against Jacob Noe, who people felt was my best performance in Bellator, I slipped. In every fight I slipped in some way and it's only gotten worse. So thank goodness they gonna change the canvas up. The last dude said that he did, but I don't believe him. I think he lied like he did about a bunch of other stuff, but that's over with now; he's gone. Now the canvas is gone and they replacing it with a different one and I think you will see better fights.

PC: Have you been around or spoke to other Bellator fighters, and if so, what are their thoughts on the change of guard?

KM: Some people are excited and some people feel like the old regime left such a bad taste in their mouth, they not sure if they still wanna fight for Bellator. People can say that, but the thing is, you can't go by the old regime. There is  new person in there and if you think about it, no one really complained about Strikeforce. Everybody was cool. I think with Bellator, you gonna get the same vibe. People will be happy to fight now.

PC: What can we look forward to from you against DeBlass in September?

KM: I think you are gonna see a good fight. I'm going to put on a dominant performance. I'm liking the change of the canvas and doing my camp at American Top Team. I'm ready to get this fight in and prepare for whatever is next after the fight. I'm going in there to win, hopefully come out with no injuries, and prepare for the next fight, hopefully in November.

PC: This will be either your third or fourth fight with American Top Team holding your camp. How is the chemistry there?

KM: I love it there, man. They got everything I need. I love all of the coaches there; they family, mayne, for real. Everybody there is cool. Even SB Nation, that's their people and they cool as hell too. I got my squad, the "Dive Team." We got different factions within American Top Team.

PC: You have been involved in some pro wrestling events and look to be having a good time with that, man.

KM: I love it, man. I'm trying to get my feet wet. I met Stevie Ray, Balls Mahoney, X-Pac is my dog, Chris Masters is my dog, Gangrel is cool as hell. I met some cool people there. Tommy Dreamer is real cool. I have actually been blessed to meet these people, man. Ron Simmons was cool. I was kind of like a fan and almost like a damn groupie. I'm not gonna lie, I don't ask to take pictures with people, but when I saw those wrestlers, I think I asked all of them to take a picture with me. Everybody was out there, Nasty Boys and Rikishi, I had to get my picture with them boys. I still wanna get a picture with James Prince, Teddy Atlas, Max Kellerman, and Emanuel Augustus. The thing is these people mean something to me because they affected me in one way or the other; my childhood or my views on sports or music and boxing knowledge. Dog, I'm a boxing head first and I love music. So if you have influenced me in one of those facets of my life, then I'm gonna want to take a picture with you.

PC: I can't wait to see you back in there in September. Good luck in training. Is there anything you want to say in closing?

KM: I'm "Dive Team" and my boy Shawn Bunch, we still cool, mayne, but I guess he joined the "Eat a Booty" gang with Trick Daddy, so holla at "Eat a Booty" Bunch on Twitter, you know what I'm saying.
