"I'm excited to fight again with a tall opponent like Algieri...I've been fighting a tall guy like Algieri, so I know what I'm doing and I know what I'm going to do in the ring," stated WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who made it clear that he has no concerns about the 4-inch height disadvantage he'll be facing when he steps into the ring with the much taller WBO jr. welterweight champion Chris Algieri on November 22. As far as Pacquiao is concerned, it's not the first time he's had to face such an obstacle and they've taken the necessary steps in training camp to make sure he's ready for it.
"We're not taking it lightly for this fight," Pacquiao explained during a recent conference call to promote the bout. He's also not concerned about Algieri's recent comments about utilizing the same game plan as Juan Manuel Marquez, who scored a 6th round knockout of the 8-division world champion nearly two years ago. "It's not the first time that it happened to me like that, like the Marquez fight. I experienced it before and I know what I'm going to do and I know what I'm going to do in the fight for this fight. We studied hard and we focused hard in the gym different techniques and different style and different strategy I believe I can use in the fight. So nothing to worry about that. I know they're going to look at that fight, they're going to watch that fight, they're going to review that fight, and I know what I'm doing and what I'm going to do," he added.
