CURTIS STEVENS TALKS BKB CLASH WITH GABRIEL ROSADO:

"As long as you're using your hands, it's fighting, man, and we gonna get it on...The only time I seen him fight back was when he fought Kid Chocolate. I don't know if Kid Chocolate started getting tired or what was the case, but he started to rally back, but I believe it was too late. Other than that, he's okay. He takes a good ass whoopin...April 4th, I'm bringing the pain, man. I'm bringing pain," stated middleweight contender Curtis Stevens, who talked about his upcoming April 4 clash with BKB middleweight champion Gabe Rosado. Check it out!

PC: Your BKB debut is right around the corner. How do you feel, man?

CS: I'm feeling good; feeling great. I actually had to calm down a little bit. I was overworking myself, but I'm feeling great though.

PC: I liked what you said during the conference call regarding fighting in BKB and inside the pit. You basically said, put you anywhere and you'll fight because you are a fighter. Elaborate on that point if you can.

CS: I'm a fighter, man. I've been fighting since I was 5 years old. It's called boxing, but at the end of the day, you're fighting, man. Sometimes you gotta use boxing skills and sometimes you gotta use your street skills; either way, you're fighting. Whether it's with 4 corners or a circle, you gotta fight. As long as you're using your hands, it's fighting, man, and we gonna get it on.

PC: What are your thoughts on Gabe Rosado as an opponent and titleholder for BKB?

CS: He's okay. He's a good, okay fighter, you know. He fights when he has to fight. The only time I seen him fight back was when he fought Kid Chocolate. I don't know if Kid Chocolate started getting tired or what was the case, but he started to rally back, but I believe it was too late. Other than that, he's okay. He takes a good ass whoopin'!

PC: I have noticed that you've done it for awhile, but after your last few fights, I saw a lot of people on Twitter talking about the way you toe tap. You always tap your toe on the canvas. Is that a rhythm thing or something you've always done?

CS: It's just a rhythm thing when I'm moving. Move-tap-move-tap, you know. A lot of people think it's to set up a shot, but I can be throwing a shot and tapping at the same time. It's just a movement thing.

PC: Have you had a chance to go down and feel your way around The Pit or will Saturday night be your first time?

CS: Yeah, yeah, I was in The Pit about 3 weeks ago. I was in Vegas and I went to The Pit and checked it out. A nice little circle, but it looks bigger on TV. When I got in there, I walked around and stepped around in it. You gotta fight. You may get knocked down or whatever, but you gotta fight in there.

PC: I know you're out in Big Bear working with Shane Mosley. Is it different training on the west coast as opposed to being on the east coast, what you were accustomed to?

CS: The difference between training in New York and Big Bear...I can be easily distracted in New York, but in Big Bear, there ain't nothing to do but train. The air is very thin and Shane is awesome. He's been in there, he's been in the ring, so he can show me things that my uncle can't show me because he's been in there as a professional. Sometimes there is a difference between someone looking in as opposed to someone being in there.

PC: This is something different for you and, as you said, a fight is a fight, but any anxiety leading into this for you because it's something different?

CS: I'm anxious to get back in there because I'm coming off of an L. Anytime I'm coming off of a defeat, I'm always eager to get back in there because you're only as good as your last fight, so I want to get back in there and show and prove and show what I'm made of.

PC: What's the game plan for you moving forward?

CS: I want to go in there and capitalize off of what Rosado is doing wrong and just to get back in there. I want to stay busy so I can stay sharp. So hopefully after Rosado, I'll stay a little busier and I think I'll look sharper if I can stay busier and keep climbing the ladder for that world championship.

PC: What can fans tuning in expect from "Showtime"?

CS: Oh man, April 4th, I'm bringing the pain, man. I'm bringing pain. Like I said, I'm coming off of a loss, I ain't seen my son in 5 months...haven't seen my son since October matter of fact, my birthday was like 3 weeks ago and I was in camp; somebody gotta pay. I'm coming  in there to bring pain.

PC: I wish you the best. We'll talk afterwards. Anything else you want to add?

CS: Tune in to the fight. Best believe it's going down!
