Moments ago at the University of Texas in Arlington, Texas, undefeated former lightweight champion Terence Crawford made an impressive debut in the jr. welterweight division, scoring three knockdowns of Thomas Dulorme en route to a 6th round TKO. It was a technical battle from the start, with both fighters working behind their jabs looking to land their right hands. Although Dulorme got off to a fast start, it didn't take long for Crawford to settle into a groove. After four rounds, the fight was close, but it was Crawford who appeared to be taking control as he began to land the cleaner shots.
Dulorme continued to press the attack, however, getting some good work done to the body while mixing up shots upstairs. In the 5th round though, Crawford landed a hard 1-2 that rocked Dulorme, who took a knee to buy some time. Crawford wasted not time to jump on him, landing a barrage of punches that ended with a left hook that sent Dulorme to the canvas for the second time of the fight. Again, Crawford jumped on Dulorme, letting his hands go and battering Dulorme to the canvas for the third and final time of the fight. Official time of the stoppage was 1:51 of round 6. With the win, Crawford picks up the WBO jr. welterweight title.
