Moments ago at the Videotron Centre in Quebec, Canada, WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson made an impressive defense of his title, knocking out game challenger Thomas Williams Jr. in the 4th round of an action-packed fight. Stevenson made his power known early, landing a left hand to the side of the head that dropped Williams as he tried to duck away from it. Williams didn't appear to be seriously hurt after calmly taking the eight count, but it was clear that Stevenson was the bigger puncher of the two.
Williams, however, was more than willing to trade as he came out in the second round and started backing Stevenson up with his own power shots. Despite the early knockdown, the fight was back and forth as both men landed their share of heavy leather. Although Williams was having his moments, Stevenson began chopping him down as they traded uppercuts and body shots on the inside. As the action continued, it appeared as though the stronger Stevenson was getting the upper hand, rocking Williams with heavy shots before ultimately landing a short left cross that sent the challenger crashing to the canvas face first at 2:54 of round 4.
