BADOU JACK "EMOTIONAL" ABOUT ADONIS STEVENSON; CHECKS CRITICS OF FIGHTERS: "THEY DON'T SEE WHAT WE GO THROUGH"

"I was hoping for a rematch with Adonis Stevenson because that would have been a huge fight. He has a bigger name than the other guys and we had that controversial draw, but now it’s obviously not going to happen. He has a much bigger fight to deal with and I wish him a speedy recovery," stated multi-division former world champion Badou Jack, who shared his thoughts on the current condition of former world champion Adonis Stevenson, who suffered a life-threatening brain injury in his knockout loss to Oleksandr Gvozdyk earlier this month. Fortunately, Stevenson has woken up from the medically induced coma that he was in, but he still has a long way to go in his recovery; a notion that is not lost on Jack.

"Hopefully, he makes it. I’m really emotional about it because he had a very tough fight with me and that might have took something out of him. I didn’t see him at the hotel, but after the fight, people were telling me that he was really hurt. He was stumbling around and stuff. I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but that’s what they told me," Jack explained during a recent interview with FightHype.com. "I’m not saying I feel responsible, but it was a tough fight, so I feel for him. I watched the fight in the media center in The Staples Center with no sound, so I wasn’t scoring it or anything like that, but it looked competitive. It looks like the ref didn’t do a good job in that fight. The first one, Adonis got dropped, that was a clean right hand and he scored it a slip or whatever and then Adonis knocked Oleksandr down and the ropes kept him up. It looks like he almost had him. But he took some punches and it’s sad."

Jack continued, "This is what we sign up for, but people sit there and talk shit on the internet; even a bunch of media members sit there and talk shit, but they don’t see what we go through. They don’t know what it’s like to be in there. We risk our lives just for our families. This is the hurt business and it could happen to any one of us. I feel for him and his family, but hopefully he will be alright soon. I hear he’s making a turn for the best and recovering, so any good news from that situation is a great thing."
