HBO's award-winning franchise "24/7" returned tonight with the episode 2 of "24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz", the all-access reality series following undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather and WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz as they prepare for their September 17 showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Episode 2 focused a little more on the trainers, Roger Mayweather and Danny Garcia, but it was not short on quotes from both fighters. "Floyd's made it a point to talk and get into people's heads and in their faces and, you know, if you're talking to me, you're literally talking to a tree, bro. What are you going to do to me that hasn't been done already? There's nothing that this man can say to me or even try to say to me that hasn't been said to me," Ortiz would comment, making it clear that the trash talk is having no effect as he remains focused on his mission to be the first to destroy the Mayweather legacy. Check out what else Victor Ortiz had to say in episode 2 of 24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz.
On Floyd Mayweather and his trash talk...
"Floyd's made it a point to talk and get into people's heads and in their faces and, you know, if you're talking to me, you're literally talking to a tree, bro. What are you going to do to me that hasn't been done already? There's nothing that this man can say to me or even try to say to me that hasn't been said to me."
"I've been paying the dues, bro. I don't talk bad about him."
"He's been a decent champion for awhile. He's had his reign. Congratulations. Now it's my turn."
"I was 9-years-old when I said to myself, 'I'm going to beat him one day, bro. I'm going to give him his first loss.' Everybody made fun of me. Everybody pointed and laughed. Everybody just said, 'You wish. You can't get to that level. You don't even have parents.' I was just like, 'You'll see. One day, I'm gonna destroy him.'"
On working out with his team...
"You gotta make sure that you make the best out of each day. Everybody's very respectful. They enjoy a great day; always smiling. And if for some reason they're not smiling, I'll get them to smile sooner or later."
On Floyd Mayweather's actions outside of the ring...
"I mean, burning hundred dollar bills, that's a slap in the face to anyone. I mean, I grew up with nothing, so I know what that's like. Seeing something like that, that's made of ignorance; pure ignorance. That's just gonna...it's gonna show what may take place in his life in the next few years, especially after I destroy him."
"If you're really that careless about money like that, then who knows where the rest of your life is going to take you, you know? I mean, I've been through it all. I am 24, but I've been through a whole lot more than our good friend Floyd. So, as far as that goes, I don't think he could quite handle the adversities that I've been faced with, so it'll be surprising to see where he goes."
