World-class kickboxing sensation and K-1 bad boy Badr Hari has been very adamant about his pursuit of a boxing career and FightHype has been all over the story. Yesterday, Hari took one step closer to his transition when he informed "It's Showtime" that his January 28th rematch with Gokhan Saki will be his last fight as a kickboxer. After his fight with Saki, Hari will be moving to the United States to begin what promises to be a successful and entertaining boxing career. FightHype received a call from Hari and his longtime trainer, Mike Passenier, who confirmed the news.
FightHype also learned that the two will be meeting with world-class trainer Naazim Richardson in Germany this week to discuss the possibility of Richardson becoming his trainer. Badr Hari has a great deal of respect for Richardson, who is the longtime trainer of future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins and also works with former welterweight champion Shane Mosley and IBF cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham. Richardson is currently in Germany preparing Cunningham for his title defense against Yoan Pablo Hernandez this Saturday night. Hari is a very charismatic heavyweight that is known for his one-punch knockout power, menacing mentality, and his out of ring bad boy image.
Stay tuned to FightHype.com as we will have plenty of updates regarding Badr Hari's move to boxing, as well as him working with Naazim Richardson.
