FightHype.com recently spoke to featherweight contender Jason Litzau about his upcoming fight against Edel Ruiz this Friday on the undercard of Vargas-Mayorga. Check it out!
AC: You have a fight coming up this Friday on the undercard of Vargas vs. Mayorga. How was preparation for this fight?
JL: Preparation was great.
AC: You'll be fighting Edel Ruiz. Have you seen any tapes of him fighting?
JL: I leave that to my corner. They come up with the strategy and I do what they tell me.
AC: What would you say is your prediction for this fight?
JL: I don't make predictions anymore. I mean, I'm going to come out victorious, but I'm not going to say I'm going to knock this guy out. If it happens, then great, but if it goes the distance, that's fine as long as I have the victory.
AC: This is your third fight since your first loss. What would you say you learned coming off that loss?
JL: A whole lot. I just learned a whole lot since that fight. In everything, God has a plan.
AC: Well if you come out victorious, what would you like to see happen in your career?
JL: Fight Robert Guerrero or Steven Luevano for the world title is what I would like to see happen.
AC: How would you see a fight playing out with either of those two?
JL: Styles make fights and that's all that matters.
AC: You usually fight 3-4 times a year. Is that the activity level you'd like to maintain for 2008?
JL: Yeah that'd be good.
AC: When would you like to see yourself in the ring after this fight?
JL: I leave that up to Main Events and my manager, they'll make it happen. It doesn't matter. If a fight's going to happen, it'll happen. Whatever they have planned, we'll achieve it.
AC: Well I know your getting ready to head out for your fight on Friday and I don't want to take up much more of your time. Is there anything you'd like to say to your fans in closing?
JL: I want to thank the troops out there fighting for me so I can be in this free country.
