"I love to model and I love MMA so I took my two interests and brought them together," stated model Erin Jade as she talked about her involvement in mixed martial arts, her desire to one day work for the UFC, her future plans and much more. Check it out!
PC: How is everything going?
EJ: Everything is going good.
PC: You're a very beautiful girl.
EJ: Thank you!
PC: How did you get your start in modeling for mixed martial arts ads?
EJ: My boyfriend is really into MMA. He does Muay Thai and he always got me to watch the UFC with him. I love to model and I love MMA so I took my two interests and brought them together.
PC: I'm sure it was a huge honor to be named "Babe of the Month" in Fighters Only Magazine. How was that whole experience for you?
EJ: It was really good because that was my first magazine feature. The other features I've done have mostly been on websites. It was really exciting.
PC: Do you have a favorite photo shoot?
EJ: I guess all of my MMA photo shoots are the ones I like the best. I've done other shoots for fashion and bikini, but all of my MMA ones are the ones I like the most.
PC: You are a very young girl. What are some of your goals for the future?
EJ: I've always wanted to get into acting and singing actually. I like to sing and I like to write so I want to get into a lot of things, but mostly the entertainment industry. I want to sing, act and do modeling.
PC: Who are some of your favorite fighters to watch in mixed martial arts?
EJ: I like Georges St-Pierre and Rampage. Georges St-Pierre is my favorite because I'm Canadian and he's Canadian too so it's even better. I really like St-Pierre.
PC: You're a Filipina so I have to ask if you're a fan of the boxer Manny Pacquiao?
EJ: Yes, I like him. I'm really proud that he's doing so well.
PC: Have you ever met him before?
EJ: No, I haven't. I've seen him box, but I haven't met him. That would be cool if I could though. I would love to meet Manny Pacquiao.
PC: You're an only child so are you a spoiled girl?
EJ: No, not really. I'm not spoiled. Being the only child, everyone would be like, "Oh, you're spoiled." I always wanted to have a brother or sister because I get bored really easy so I'm always bored. I'm constantly trying to find things to do to occupy my time and that's how I started modeling and acting because I got bored as the only child.
PC: Would you like to pursue your writing and drawing talents as well?
EJ: Yeah, I actually got a few poems published a couple of years ago. I really liked it. I haven't written anything recently and eventually, I will, but I've been busy with school and modeling. But I really want to start writing and doing some of these things. There is so much I want to do. I also go to school for business, marketing and advertising so I also want to advertise for a business in the future.
PC: Are you constantly approached by guys and if so, is it uncomfortable or have you gotten used to it?
EJ: No, I've gotten used to it. At first, it was kind of weird, but after I did a bunch of shows and events, people would ask if I would take a picture with them and stuff like that and now it's cool. I got used to it after a while.
PC: You obviously stay in tremendous shape. What does your diet and training regimen consist of?
EJ: Really, I don't really workout. Mainly what I do is just dance and I did gymnastics for 15 years so I was training for gymnastics.
PC: God, I work out so hard and I don't have it like that. I'm jealous. Let me guess, you eat a lot of chocolate too right or do you diet?
EJ: I don't really diet actually (laughing).
PC: You're killing me.
EJ: After gymnastics...I trained gymnastics for a really long time and I guess it just sped up my metabolism.
PC: Do you have anything lined up?
EJ: For the summer, I'm doing the Ultimate Grappling Magazine, Elite Fighter Magazine, I believe that's coming out in July, and I have a few interviews for IGN.
PC: Would you ever like to maybe not compete, but train in mixed martial arts?
EJ: Yeah, I would, but I wouldn't know what weight class I would be in because I'm really small. I would be like a feather, feather, feather weight.
PC: Really, what are you, about 115?
EJ: Nope (laughing) I'm like 90-95.
PC: How far do you want to go as far as modeling in mixed martial arts and would you like to become a ring card girl?
EJ: I would. I would love to do it for the UFC. I would want to do it for the UFC because I love the UFC and I'm always watching it. It would be really cool of I could do both because I love the fights, but I could also do modeling.
PC: The UFC recently had a show in Canada. Did you make it out there to it?
EJ: I did. I had to see Georges St-Pierre. I'm in love with him.
PC: I really appreciate the interview. I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. Is there anybody you would like to thank in closing?
