It's official! After 16 years as a pro, 10 world championships in 6 different weight divisions and a whole hell of a lot of money, Oscar De La Hoya has officially retired from the sport of boxing. The Golden Boy ends his career after 45 total fights with a record of 39 wins (30 KOs) and just 6 losses. De La Hoya made the announcement just moments ago during a press conference held at the Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE, across from STAPLES Center.

Although he did not win every one of those fights, he surely be remembered as one the greats. With 19 pay-per-view events that have generated roughly $650 million in domestic revenue, he currently holds the record as the biggest pay-per-view attraction in the history of the sport.
De La Hoya also currently holds the #1 spot for the top pay-per-view event in boxing. His fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. set the record for most pay-per-view buys with 2.4 million buys and $120 million in pay-per-view revenue.
