FightHype.com caught up with Strikeforce light heavyweight and former UFC heavyweight champion Kevin Randleman to discuss the recent allegations that he turned down a fight with Rafael Cavalcante on Strikeforce's June 6th card. "I wasn't scared to fight Fedor; why would I be scared of Cavalcante," Randleman responded. "I don't even know who Cavalcante is. I'm not disrespecting him, but I'm a fighter; I have so much other stuff going on that I really don't have time to keep up with all of these guys. I don't sit in front of a computer all day," he continued. Furthermore, Randleman and his manager revealed that a fight with "Feijao" was never even offered. "Cavalcante was never even offered to us...We've had about five names thrown our way and his was not one of them," stated Elizabeth Broglia, who is Randleman's manager and soon to be wife.
"I'm getting ready to marry Elizabeth Broglia next week so I'm not even thinking about business right now. I'm tied up with the wedding and everything that comes along with that, so I haven't even been thinking about opponents. Mike Whitehead is the name I keep hearing anyway. I'm the only one that steps inside the cage, but I have a team behind me. It's not just me making the decisions, but opinions are like assholes," Randleman concluded.
FightHype would like to congratulate both Kevin and Elizabeth on their engagement and upcoming marriage. Stay tuned for much more to come from Randleman.
