On Saturday, October 3rd, female mixed martial artist Miesha Tate returns to action in her hometown of Tacoma, Washington when she takes on Sarah Oriza of Portland, Oregon. Tate will be headlining the latest Cagesport MMA card as she looks to rebound after a unanimous decision loss to Sarah Kaufmann back in May under the Strikeforce banner. Because Tate typically fights at 135 and Oriza fights at 145, the two agreed to meet in the middle at a catch-weight of 140 pounds.
"I will be the main event and it's going to be in my hometown, so I couldn't ask for a better situation. Cagesport is a very good organization," Tate stated as she expressed her excitement to be getting back inside of the cage, as well as headlining a card in her hometown. This will be Tate's second fight for the organization. Her first fight came back in November of last year when she earned a 1st round TKO victory over Jamie Lynn Welsh. Hoping for a similar outcome in October, Tate replied, "I want to put on a good showing for my family and friends that will be there to support me. I'm looking to come back strong as ever!"
I'm sure there will be no shortage of support for the Washington native as she attempts to re-establish her name back under the win column.
