During a recent appearance on the OnTheGrind Boxing Radio Show, Kendall "Rated R" Holt declared himself to be "the most feared fighter" in the 140-pound division due to his inability to find a challenger willing to step up to the plate to face him in an eliminator for the IBF number one contender spot. Shortly after a transcript of Holt's comments appeared on FightHype.com, former world champion Steve "Two Pounds" Forbes reached out to inform us that Holt need look no further for an opponent now that he's back at jr. welterweight. Check out what Forbes had to say in his open letter and challenge to Holt.
This is Steve Forbes. You may know me from the 2nd season of The Contender series, where I took second place in a tourney of jr. middleweights. You also may know me as the guy who was robbed against Demetrius Hopkins in 2007, which was voted one of the most controversial fights of the last decade by Ring magazine. You probably may know me as the guy who sent Francisco Panchito Bojado into an early retirement as well. Oh yeah, I'm also the guy who faced Oscar de la Hoya in front of 30,000 screaming fans. If not, you may know me simply as the former IBF Super Featherweight World Champion.
I see that Kendall Holt is the most avoided fighter in 140lbs. Well, it just so happens I'm back at 140lbs and the IBF is aware of that. If I have anything to say about it, he has to look no further for an opponent.
Sincerely,
Steve Forbes
