Mark Munoz, owner of Reign Training Center in Lake Forest, will celebrate the opening of his facility in Lake Forest on Saturday, March 13 along with Mixed Martial Arts superstars Urijah Faber, the number one contender for the World Extreme Cagefighting Featherweight Championship and current #3 ranked featherweight fighter in the world and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, widely recognized as having the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the heavyweight class, with a philosophy that in order to attain lasting physical fitness, one must attain clarity of mind, strong self-esteem and an adherence to what Munoz calls the five D's. Join Munoz and the other athletes for a full slate of free activities, including games, food and demonstrations for the whole family, from 1 p.m. 5 p.m. at the center which is located at 22600-F Lambert St., Ste. 1201 in Lake Forest, California.
"I believe and live my life on the theory that one cannot truly attain the goals they have set for themselves without five key elements: direction, desire, dedication, discipline and determination or diligence," explained Munoz. "These are the things that have allowed me to get to this point in my life where I am a business owner, father and competitor. Now I want to impart what I've learned to others so that they can realize their goals."
A former NCAA and high school national wrestling champion who currently competes in the middleweight division of the UFC and holds a 7-1 record in MMA competitions, Munoz will be joined by Faber, Nogueira and others to do demonstrations for the public and further explain his approach to fitness training.
Other athletes scheduled to appear and provide demonstrations include Ryron Gracie of the legendary Gracie family and developer of Gracie Jiu Jitsu; motocross stunt rider Eric Whitcomb; and Pro Muay Thai and boxing trainers Billy Schiebe and Abel Nunez.
Recently added to the list of demonstrators is Carlos and Giovanni, who at age 8 and 7 respectively, have taken the MMA world by storm and are now actively involved in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. They each started training when they were about 18 months old.
Also on hand will be fellow wrestlers and Mixed Martial Arts contenders Joseph Benavidez, King Mo Lawal, Jason "Mayhem" Miller and Renato "Babulu" Sobral; and Todd Norman, a top 5 Nike Sparq Trainer and owner of Cutting Edge Sports Training. The event will be catered by Boneheads of Lake Forest. Giveaways will be provided by Warrior International.
