"Jonathan Banks...This dude is a clown. If he want to fight me...it's all good. I have a boxing date set up for October 1st in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the brand new Hard Rock out there. If he wants to step up and he ain't scared, I will make him my first victim back in the boxing ring...Boxing is still #1. It's still #1. Don't be fooled by all of the UFC shit. I love the UFC, but I love boxing more. Boxing is #1. I'm still the top dog. I'm still the IBA heavyweight champion. I ain't going nowhere I'm coming back on October 1st in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Hard Rock. They built a brand new arena and it's nice. I just came back from there. I'm just looking forward to doing my thing on both aspects. I'm ready to go man. I told you I've been working on this MMA stuff for about 9 months, but I still been boxing. MMA is making me even sharper. I'm back to the Holyfield page now. I'm a little bit bigger, a little bit stronger, but I'm a lot faster," stated future Hall of Famer James "Lights Outs" Toney as he talked about his return to the boxing ring on October 1st. Check out what he had to say about that, his MMA training and much more.
PC: You and Jonathan Banks went at it for awhile on the site. He recently fought to a draw with Jason Gavern. You told me you were less than impressed.
JT: Oh my goodness! Jonathan Banks, you run your fuckin' mouth talking about this and talking about that and talking about how James can't do this and that. Man, this nigga just went 12 rounds with my sparring partner. Jason Gavern is my sparring partner and a good friend of mine. I heard it was a horrible fight. I didn't see it and I apologize to all of the fans that did see the fight. They say he came to survive and was scared to get hit. Jonathan Banks can eat a dick! If I see him, it ain't going to be nothin' nice. I ain't friendly; I ain't trying to have a bunch of fighters as friends because you never know what's going to happen. This dude is a clown. If he want to fight me...it's all good. I have a boxing date set up for October 1st in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the brand new Hard Rock out there. If he wants to step up and he ain't scared, I will make him my first victim back in the boxing ring. Man, until then, tell Jonathan Banks to shut the fuck up and learn how to fight.
PC: Sosnowski actually tried, but Vitali was too much for him...
JT: (Cutting in) My thing is this, the Klitschkos talking about David Haye is scared of them. These bitches been running from me. They scared of me and they know it. If I ever see them in public, I'm going to go up to either one of them and slap the dog shit out of them and then we will see if they want to do something. Them boys are cowards. The bad thing about it is our American companies, HBO and Showtime, want to promote them and call them the best and they don't fight nobody. At least they stopped showing their fights.
PC: Chris Byrd recently did a radio interview saying that no one can beat Wladimir right now...
JT: (Cutting in) The only reason he said that is because he got his ass whooped when they fought. Chris Byrd is a little bitch. Chris Byrd is a bitch, straight up. His wife runs his ass. Chris Byrd can have everybody believe what they want to, but he's a victim of his circumstances. He can't fight, period. He was very careful and moved along very carefully, just like everybody else in the boxing game. I wasn't willing to do that.
PC: So we will see you in the cage in August and the ring in October, correct?
JT: Oh yeah! Boxing is still #1. PC: I look forward to seeing the finished product. I know you've been training hard, so I haven't hit you up too much, but hit me up any time. Give me some closing thoughts.
