Brock Lesnar is the UFC Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, but he's very careful about the companies he sells his sponsorships to. That may sound like a load of bull, but the 265 pound champion's biographer swears it's the truth.
Paul Heyman has known Brock Lesnar since they became an on-air pair (Brock the wrestler, Heyman the evil agent) and took over WWE programming in 2002. No single wrestler ever emerged from the pack and became a #1 star in so short a time. The former NCAA Champion shot straight to the top of WWE with Heyman by his side.
Now, Heyman is in Anaheim, covering Brock's UFC 121 fight week for The Heyman Hustle (www.heymanhustle.com) website. After a day of media appearances and a Downtown LA press conference, Heyman blogged about his friend's amazing recovery from Diverticulitis.
"I am very careful about what I put into my body now, I learned my lesson the hard way," Lesnar told Heyman, "I look at everything I put into my body as fuel for a premium machine that is heading into the biggest race of the year. I have a lot of people that depend on me winning, and I take that responsibility to heart. I don't put any food or supplements into my mouth, just because I'm hungry. I'd rather wait and eat right than even chance screwing myself up."
"I know everyone thinks I just wear these company's logos on my shirt because they're paid sponsorships," Brock said, "but I've never whored myself out. Not for millions and millions in pro wrestling, not to go play European football, never. I really do use Dymatize. It works for me. Their products made me much healthier, and they're a vital part of my recovery and diet. I believe it, so I say it. If I didn't believe it, they couldn't pay me enough to endorse them."
Say what you want about the big man, I wouldn't call him a liar. Lesnar is notoriously tough to deal with, and considering how he looked on the UFC Prime Time shows, I have to say I believe every word he says.
