As he enters the final few weeks of training for his May 7th showdown with "Sugar" Shane Mosley, pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao is gearing up to promote his latest endeavor. Next Thursday, on April 28th, Pacquiao is releasing a new CD single of the classic "Sometimes When We Touch" on iTunes and Amazon.com. It's a song that he's performed on several occassions, but gained widespread recognition for it after a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live prior to his 2009 clash with Miguel Cotto. This time, Pacquiao has recorded it with songwriter and original singer Dan Hill. The single also comes with a special behind-the-scenes "Making Of" DVD that features appearances and commentary from Hill, producers Matthew McCauley and Fred Mollin, and Pacquiao himself.
"I always listen to this song, Sometimes When We Touch. Now I can meet the original singer," Pacquiao reveals in the DVD. Dan Hill comments, "I saw Manny and heard Manny sing it on Jimmy Kimmell and I loved the way he sang it...I was immediately drawn to the honesty and the gentleness of his performance."
